Revive

Hello reader friends!!

So after a long hiatus I am going to start this blog up again. Life got in the way for a bit ( job changes are no fun ) but I am coming back! My first review that I put out is going to be for A Torch Against The Night by Sabaa Tahir when I finish it. This book is my most anticipated book of 2016 so I'm super excited to read it! I'm also going to a book signing for this book next week so I'll do a post about that once it happens. If there are any books you would like me review please let me know in comments. See you guys soon!

Top 5 Wednesday!

     Hello Everyone!

This weeks Top 5 Wednesday topic is : Top 5 Favorite Fandoms. I have been a fangirl of one thing or another pretty much my whole life so this topic is pretty easy for me.

                    5. Nerdfighters: I have been a Nerdfighter since late 2008. The vlog brothers are amazing people who do amazing things and I love watching their videos every week. John Green's books are amazing and Hank is so smart and funny. If you don't watch their videos you should.
                      4. Buffy The Vampire Slayer: I fell in love with this show my freshman year of high school when it was in season five and have not looked back since. I love vampires and all things supernatural, plus the characters on this show are amazing. I'm not caught up on the comics but I'm hoping to do that this year.
3.K-Pop: Kpop is awesome. My friend told me to google Super Junior one day and that was it, I was done. Most of the music on my ipod is K-pop now and I regret nothing. Some of my favorite groups are Super Junior, BTS, Big Bang, SNSD, and 2NE1. Check them out!
                      2. NSYNC: I have loved them since I was 11 and I will never stop. I have a trapper keeper [ I know I just dated myself} full of crap I collected over the years, all the albums, tons of vhs tapes with them recorded on various TV shows, a blanket and pillow case set...... I could go on. KTFB,
                      1. Harry Potter: I can not put into words how much these books mean to me. Hogwarts is my home. If you haven't read them yet, I don't know what your doing with your life.

Bout of Books 15!!!

Hello Everybody!

Bout of Books

It's time for the first read-a-thon of the year! Bout of Books 15 is starting up very soon and I am officially announcing my participation. If you have never heard of Bout of Books here is a quick description

The Bout of Books read-a-thon is organized by Amanda @ On a Book Bender and Kelly @ Reading the Paranormal. It is a week long read-a-thon that begins 12:01am Monday, January 4th and runs through Sunday, January 10th in whatever time zone you are in. Bout of Books is low-pressure. There are challenges, giveaways, and a grand prize, but all of these are completely optional. For all Bout of Books 15 information and updates, be sure to visit the Bout of Books blog. - From the Bout of Books team

I really like this one because as far as read-a-thons go, this one is fairly low stress. Your one goal is to read as much as you can in the time allowed. There are challenges but they are totally optional. Its a great way to get a head start on that Goodreads Challenge early in the year. My TBR for this read-a-thon is simply to just get as many books off of my currently reading shelf on Goodreads as I can. Some of them have been sitting there for a while and I'm sick of looking at them. Plus I want to start the new year off with new books. Click the link to the Bout of Books Blog and join in on the fun!

2016 Bookish Challenge

Hello everybody!

It's been a really long time since I've used this blog but I wanted to start it again this year so I can keep track of my reading challenges. I am doing two reading challenges this year. First, my Goodreads challenge.

Last year I completed my Goodreads challenge of reading 30 books ( I actually surpassed it, I read 37 books) and this year I doubled it and pushed that number up to 60. I usually listen to at least one audio book per week so I don't think this number will be to hard to reach but we'll see what happens. I have also decided to count comic books ( not single issue but trade paperbacks) and magna this year. In the past I have not included them because I wanted my list to be strictly novels but I really do have a lot of unread magna and I've been getting more into comics lately so I feel my list would be missing a lot if I didn't include them.

I have also created my own challenge that I am calling The Bookshelf challenge. This is basically the same as the 0 by 17 challenge that other booktubers/bookbloggers are doing in which they try to get the number of unread books on their shelves down to 0 by January 1st 2017. As of today ( January 1st 2016) I have about 192 unread books on my shelves. Yikes! That is a huge TBR and I will never get it to 0 by 2017. So instead I have challenged myself to get that number to 100 by 2017. In light of this I am also putting myself on a book buying ban for a while and when I do buy books again it is mostly going to be sequels or continuing series I already have.

So in this blog I plan on updating my progress on both these challenges as well as other fun updates like Weekly Wrap Ups, Top 5 Wednesdays, Friday reads, Tags from Booktube, and any readathons I may be doing. I hope you will join me on this adventure and take your own reading challenges this year. Happy New Year Everyone and Happy Reading!
